I am actually posting this as a member of the Neverwinter Nights Community. Neverwinter Nights is a Dungeons and Dragons computer roleplaying game, which has 2 expansions, is a mainstream title, and has a lot of user generated modules and persistent worlds, and a sizeable roleplaying community. To a large degree its similar to the many MUD games which have been around for a long time. I have been involved for a long time making new spells and systems, and running a persistent world ( which is a small version of world of warcraft ).
